HESS deliver first gas from North Malay Basin Phase 2

Hess Malaysia has safely started up first gas from the Zetung wells in Phase II of the North Malay Basin (NMB) Integrated Gas Development Project.

NMB is located in Block PM302, approximately 186 miles (300 km) offshore the Trengganu Gas Terminal in the Gulf of Thailand, with a water depth of approximately 180 feet (55 m) and multiple gas bearing zones located at depths of 3,500 – 10,000 feet (1,000–3,000m).

NMB Integrated Gas Development Project is a phased development project with Phase I comprising of an early production system and a full-field development project, which achieved first gas in 2013 and 2017 respectively.

Phase II includes the development of the Zetung and Anggerik fields which are located south of the Bergading Central Processing Platform (CPP), approximately 300 kilometres offshore Peninsular Malaysia.

The North Malay Basin full field development achieved first production of natural gas in July 2017. Hess is the operator with 50% interest with Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd, which holds the remaining equity.
